Canada is going to be big in artificial intelligence (AI) and you can tell because prime minister Justin Trudeau has answered a question on the subject on Quora, the social question-and-answer network. That was a great spot from Forbes, or we’d be the first to admit we probably wouldn’t have noticed.
He said the expertise needed to stay in Canada because that’s where people wanted it and where they liked to react (and not “because that’s where I’m prime minister and I need to keep getting elected”, who are you calling cynical?).
“Our latest budget proposes to provide $125 million to launch a Pan-Canadian Artificial Intelligence Strategy for research and talent,” he said.n “The Strategy will promote collaboration between Canada’s main centres of expertise in Montréal, Toronto-Waterloo and Edmonton and position Canada as a world-leading destination for companies seeking to invest in artificial intelligence and innovation.”
Just don’t say we never bring you comment from anyone important.
